The market for hemp spans more than 25,000 different products in nine submarkets: agriculture, automotive, construction materials, food and beverage, furniture, paper, personal care, recycling, and textiles.

One acre of hemp can produce as much useable fiber as four acres of trees,[i] and it can be used as an effective rotational and phytoremediation crop.[ii] Compared to cotton, it yields twice as much fiber per acre,[iii] requires less water for cultivation,[iv] and produces a more durable fiber.[v]
